AI is rapidly advancing in all aspects of our daily lives and will change our society as we have never seen before. However, recent events and discussions about the fairness of AI reflect the existing bias in such systems. Based on various examples, Livia will explain what bias in AI exactly is. Livia will then give a structured overview of the different sources of bias in AI and present the latest solutions to unbiased and fair AI systems.

About Livia Eichenberger

Livia is a Business Development & Innovation Specialist at STATWORX. In her role, she is responsible for expanding the company’s Swiss location and the implementation of ideas and projects that drive AI & Society.

With a study background in Quantitative Economics and Finance at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and ETH Zurich, she specialized in the theory and application of machine learning algorithms, with a particular focus on causal machine learning. Livia has experience in the fields of dynamic pricing, sales forecasting, and reinforcement learning. Moreover, she is the team leader of the AI & Society Initiative at STATWORX, which focuses on educating society about AI and its impact. She is also an advocate for diversity and inclusion and has a passion for photography.
