Carbon Capture and Storage Technologies
Does carbon capture promise more than it can deliver? In June we will be looking at carbon capture and storage technologies and methods.
The Climate Cafe is a monthly event organised by Aberdeen Climate Action. Each month focuses on a different topic related to climate action, research and solutions.
**Please note the capacity for this event on Zoom is limited. We will be streaming the event live on Facebook for anyone unable to secure a place through Eventbrite.**
The three speakers for this month’s Climate Cafe are:
Prof Mark Jacobson (Director-Atmos/Energy Program, Stanford University): Why the Case for CCS Does Not Stack Up
Astley Hastings (Research Fellow, Aberdeen University): Carbon Capture and Storage In Conjunction With DRAX Biomass Electrical Generation Plant
Prof Stuart Haszeldine (Carbon Capture and Storage, Edinburgh University): Prospects for CCS Plants
This online version of our Climate Cafe will follow the same structure as our face to face cafes: three 20 minutes presentations will be followed by an opportunity for you to ask the speaker questions and participate in the discussion.
Details to join the Zoom meeting will be included in your confirmation email when you sign up.
The event space will be open from 6:30, talks begin at 7pm.
