Circular economy: opportunities for small businesses?

“Sustainable growth” and “building back better”: what does that mean for the smaller business? What opportunities might be opened for them?

In this webinar hosted by Innovate UK Edge, we will be hearing from small and medium sized businesses and industry leaders on the opportunities available and look at how to implement greener and more sustainable ways of working, with support from innovation specialists from Innovate UK Edge and the wider support networks.

Katie Thomas from Circular Yorkshire will be giving us an overview of how using circular economy principles can cut costs, carbon emissions and strengthen your business.

Catherine Westoby is the Net Zero Business Engagement Lead at the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). She will be talking about the Race to Zero campaign and highlighting Andrew Griffith MP’s Together for Our Planet Business Climate Leaders campaign ahead of COP26.

You will also hear from innovative businesses that are applying practices of sustainability and the principles of a circular economy at the heart of their business ethos. They will talk about their own journey and how they have implemented and maintained sustainable projects to achieve their business goals.

Finally, Jenny Lawson will highlight the support available from Innovate UK Edge and the opportunities available for small and medium sized businesses to achieve business growth through sustainable innovation.
