Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring (hosted by Scottish Enterprise)
The Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring project makes digitalisation accessible for SME manufacturers by providing value-adding solutions.
The Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring project is designed to help small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMEs) adopt simple digital technologies to improve your business and make digitalisation easy and accessible.
By providing companies with low-cost, low-risk solutions that directly address your top business priorities, Shoestring helps:
Upskill your staff
Encourage collaboration with like-minded companies and Higher Education Institutions
In partnership with the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) and Scottish Enterprise, this webinar will showcase how a Scottish business deployed a simple Shoestring solution and explain how the company has benefited. You’ll also learn why this company is now feeling confident about digitalisation and thinking about what else it can achieve with technology.
During this session, you’ll get a chance to:
Look at low-cost digital options suitable for small manufacturing companies
Hear a first-hand account from a Scottish SME
Explore digital solutions which could address your top business needs
Learn about opportunities for further involvement in the Shoestring project
The webinar is open to any small or medium-sized manufacturing company in Scotland. The programme is planned to be rolled out across all areas of Scotland later in the year.
9 June 2022, 1.45pm – 3.00pm
The Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) at the University of Cambridge is the lead institution on the Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring project. The project looks at how simple, low-cost and off-the-shelf digital technologies can be combined to provide practical digital solutions to specific industry challenges in SMEs. Companies taking part in the workshops may choose to engage further with IfM, and Shoestring’s regional partner, SMAS, to develop pilot solutions. Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring was set up in 2018 by the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Manufacturing in cooperation with the University of Nottingham and funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
I understand by taking part in this event my details will be shared with the Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring project at the IfM and Scottish Enterprise.
