Visual Perspectives in Finance
Decision making in financial services is often based on analysis of data of various modalities: timeseries, spreadsheets, natural language reports etc. Yet, practitioners often rely on visualizations such as charts and plots to reason about their predictions. Inspired by the end-users, we re-imagine topics such as timeseries forecasting and classification in a visual setting, similar to the way humans intuitively do. Join to learn about some of our recent work at JP Morgan AI Research, along with collaboration and job opportunities!
Bios:
Zhen Zeng is an AI Research Scientist at JP Morgan, AI Research. Her research interests are novel representations of financial data, uncertainty estimation, computer vision, and robotics. Before joining JP Morgan, Zhen worked on creating automated agents to perceive, understand and make decisions in the physical world through probabilistic modeling and machine learning. She received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Srijan Sood is a Research Scientist at JP Morgan, AI Research. His research interests are reinforcement learning, fair machine learning and applications of AI to financial services. Before joining JP Morgan, Srijan worked on building agents capable of storytelling, as well as on training trading policies using reinforcement learning. He received a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
