Industrial Symbiosis: business enablers and technology drivers
The EU-funded CORALIS project webinar will prove the implementation of industrial symbiosis in three real industrial areas across Europe.
Industrial Symbiosis (IS) engages diverse organizations in a network to foster eco-innovation and long-term culture change.
Creating and sharing through the network yields mutually profitable transactions for novel sourcing of required inputs, value added destinations for non-product outputs, and improved business and technical processes. In the context of the EU green deal, the post-covid recovery plan NextGeneration, and the development of a circular economy, IS will play a key role to develop new processes where the cooperation of different companies will help to achieve those goals by decreasing the use of primary raw materials, increasing the efficiency of the processes, and increase the added value of the materials.
Industrial symbiosis has gained great attention in the last years due to its high potential for energy and resources savings. In Europe alone, over 130 M€ have been invested in methodologies and tools facilitating the uptake of IS, mainly for the assessment of potential solutions and synergies among companies.
The EU-funded CORALIS project hosts its webinar on 14th October 2021 from 14.00 to 16.00 CET with open discussions between experts and practitioners, complemented by high-level views from policy, financing and industrial sectors.
This event is part of the EUSEW 2021 and aims to demonstrate the viable implementation of industrial symbiosis in three real industrial areas across Europe.
