The 23rd of June is International Women in Engineering Day, and GTR (Govia Thameslink Railway) will be ‘opening our doors’ again this year to celebrate Women in Engineering!
For the second time, we’re hosting an online event and collaborating with AFBE again to give students around the country a chance to learn more about our organisation and the career opportunities we offer. GTR is the largest train operating company in the UK, with more passengers, more employees and more trains than anyone else in the country.
As you can imagine, engineering is a major part of the business and we’re always on the lookout for our future stars. So, if you’re someone who likes to know how things work – taking them apart and putting them back together again – then the engineering life may be right for you. Our trains have all kinds of systems, electrical, mechanical, and modern computer control. If you have a passion for new technology and everything electrical, mechanical or engineering, come explore what we’re all about.
We have several internal volunteers who will be showcasing their experiences at GTR. Zoey Hudson, Head of Talent, Diversity and Inclusion will be kicking off the session. You will also be hearing from AFBE, GTR’s Women’s Network and a range of staff from our Engineering Function.
You will also have an opportunity to take part in a live Q&A session with the Talent Team and Dionne Mckenzie, Head of People in Engineering and HQ functions at GTR. So please have any burning questions ready. The session will finish with Roopali Sharma, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist sharing a few closing words.
If you’re curious about how our Engineering functions work and would like to know more about the opportunities we offer to women like you, please register your interest using the link below.
