Introduction to state of the art NLP DataScience@UL-FRI workshop (BERT and GPT)
This workshop is aimed at data scientists (academics, professionals, students) and data science enthusiasts that know some programming in Python and want to learn the basics of modern natural language processing. Familiarity with machine learning will be helpful, but is not required.
Short theoretical introduction (transformers, BERT, GPT)
Named entity recognition with BERT
Sentiment analysis with BERT
Text generation with GPT
Andrej Miščič and Luka Vranješ are currently in the final year of our Data Science Master’s programme at FRI. During their studies they have focused on natural language processing, specifically on recent approaches such as transformers, BERT and GPT. They’ve successfully applied their knowledge in practical applications in collaboration with Lexpera.
Attendee equipment prerequisites
We will run our code in Google Colab (see https://colab.research.google.com/notebooks/intro.ipynb for quick introduction). Access to all the materials, code, and datasets will be provided to participants a couple of days before the workshop.
This is an online workshop. We will use Zoom, all participants will receive an e-mail with the link on the day of the event.
