Is tech good for the environment?
This event is for the general public. The focus is to learn about the impacts of tech, be critical and decide and make action plans.
NOTE – This is one of two sessions. This is for the gernal public. Our second session is for educators and teachers.
Our pilot aims to focus on the why we should care about climate change and the impacts growth in tech services has on our world being sustainable. Technology is often seen in a positive way to helping people and organisations become carbon neutral; however, did you know that the growth in streaming services – from music to TV and the future growth of blockchain mining for NFT and cyrpto is set to make the industry have impacts close to that of the airline sector.
This session will include –
Why should we care about climate change?
Is technology good or bad for a sustainable lifestyle?
Your call to action on climate change and making a SMART plan
Outside of our pilot, our EU Erasmus+ project aims to deliver sustainable education Including values-based; learner-centred; holistic in scope and praxis; interdisciplinary; critical, participatory and self-reflective; locally relevant; culturally appropriate; and inclusive of minority, community and indigenous knowledge, wisdom and opinion.
Once complete, we aim for our learning platform and content to be used by educators, community leaders and NGOs to learn more about sustainability and climate change and gain ideas/inspiration on how this can be incorporated into learning and classroom sessions as a core skill.
Within this session, you will hear an overview of our wider project goals and we will ask you for an evaluation.
