LEADD:NG WORKSHOP: Augmented Reality – Merging the Physical and the Digital (hosted by University of Nottingham)
Workshop from the ERDF-funded LEADDNG Project – part of a wider programme of events to introduce SMEs to immersive technologies
The project team from the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University invite you to join us for a workshop as part of the LEADDNG programme.
At this event University experts will provide an introduction into the Concept of Augmented Reality, inspiring you with real-world examples that have captured the imagination of audiences world-wide.
The presentation will disambiguate what Augmented Reality is and how it really works, while charting the ever-growing scope of this exciting technology, with an emphasis on its applications, implications and benefits for the arts and cultural heritage sectors.
Part of this discussion are the practical pathways by which you can begin to take advantage of the increasing prevalence of Augmented Reality, allowing you to create new hybrid physical/digital experiences and ways to engage your audiences, and combine what you learn here with future LEADDNG initiatives.
Every passing day increases both the presence, and the capabilities of Augmented Reality, whether through our mobile phone devices, wearables, or visitor experiences, and it has become increasingly practicable to deliver.
This is a ‘Wide angle’ event – open to anybody and providing an inspiring overview of augmented reality. This will be followed by a more tailored ‘focus’ event which builds on these foundations in the specific context of your needs.
