NASA’s 2022 Equity Action Plan Public Meeting

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) leads the Nation on an unprecedented journey of discovery, exploration, and innovation. NASA understands that we will not discover new possibilities and travel farther into space alone – it will take diverse talents, capabilities, and knowledge beyond the agency’s walls to get us there.
NASA launched its 2022 Equity Action Plan (EAP) on April 14, 2022, in support of the Biden-Harris administration’s Executive Order 13985, “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government”. NASA’s EAP provides a framework and strategy for how the agency intends to understand and address the barriers that prevent equitable access to science, technology, and opportunities to work with and learn from NASA.
You are invited to join agency leaders and members from various Mission Directorates and organizations to discuss details about the following focus areas and answer questions from stakeholders:

Equity in Grants and Cooperative Agreements
Equity in Climate Data Accessibility and Environmental Justice
Equity in Civil Rights Compliance and Accessibility to Limited-English Proficient Populations

Breakout Session #1: Equity in Procurements and Contracts – Join us to learn how NASA will increase the Integration and utilization of contractors and businesses from underserved communities to expand equity in NASA’s procurement process
Breakout Session #2: Equity in Grants and Cooperative Agreements – Join us to learn how NASA will enhance grants and cooperative agreements to advance opportunities, access, and representation for underserved communities
Breakout Session #3: Equity in Climate Data Accessibility and Environmental Justice – Join us to learn how NASA will leverage Earth Science and socioeconomic data to help mitigate environmental challenges in underserved communities
Breakout Session #4: Equity in Civil Rights Compliance and Accessibility to Limited-English Proficient Populations – Join us to learn how NASA will advance external civil rights compliance and expand access to Limited English Proficient (LEP) populations within underserved communities
