One Million Interactions: Sector Forum (supporting professionals in the space industry)
Join this round table event to discuss how the One Million Interactions programme can continue to support professionals in the space sector
Whatever your role, you can play a part in developing young people’s ambitions and ultimately the future growth and success of the UK space sector.
We want to know how the One Million Interactions programme could better support you – professionals within the space sector – to maximise the reach and impact of your outreach and engagement work.
Background: The UK is home to a thriving and ambitious space sector, employing over 45,000 people and adding £16.4 billion per year to the UK’s economy. In order for the sector to fulfil its ambitions, it’s vital that we have a diverse and skilled workforce and a population that is able to make informed decisions about space and related technology. Employers and researchers have a major part to play to support our schools and young people to become part of this exciting sector.
One Million Interactions is a UK Space Agency initiative, supported by STEM Learning, ESERO-UK and The Careers and Enterprise Company. It aims to attract more young people into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and the space industry by providing opportunities for professionals from the space industry to interact with young people.
One Million Interactions: Sector Forum is a roundtable discussion which will offer the opportunity to influence the future direction of the programme and to develop ideas as to how we can work collaboratively to achieve the sector’s ambition. In addition to discussing the future of the programme, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from speakers and share their experience about engaging young people.
