Perception and Consciousness: From Biological to Computational Approaches
The Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarship Programme ‘From sensation and perception to awareness’ proudly present the second annual Sensation Sussex conference, which will be taking place online on Thursday the 7th and Friday the 8th of October 2021.
The programme, directed by Professor Jamie Ward and Professor Anil Seth, and funded by the Leverhulme Trust, brings together researchers and doctoral students from across neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, robotics, and the arts, with the goal of advancing our understanding of interactions between sensation, perception, as well as awareness in humans, animals, and machines.
This full-day event will gather speakers from around the world, offering an excellent opportunity to take part of current research on this year’s topic ‘Perception and Consciousness: From Biological to Computational Approaches’.
This year’s speakers include:
Prof. Liad Mudrik
Assoc. Prof. Jaan Aru
Prof. Floris de Lange
Prof. Claire Sergent
Prof. Axel Cleeremans
Dr. Emanuela Maggioni
Dr. David Plans
Prof. Miguel Nicolelis
Dr. Timothy Brown
In addition, we strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to learn about the ongoing projects by PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines, as they will be sharing their work in short talks at the end of the day.
We look forward to seeing you online!
