Across the Northeast, states have been advancing the electrical grid to handle the influx of dynamic and distributed supply from renewable energy sources and an increasingly dynamic load driven with the rise of electric vehicle charging, energy storage batteries and heat pumps.

States have set aggressive goals to achieve net zero emissions and high levels of clean energy supply. Now the regulators need to direct the utilities to add the sensors, actuators and orchestration software to continue to provide a safe, reliable, resilient, affordable and increasingly sustainable electric grid supply for the benefit of all that depend on it.

NECEC will convene leaders from the public and private sector on October 13 to examine the role that software and information technology plays in the region’s grid modernization efforts, what utilities need, the software available in the market, the challenges and opportunities that exist, and case studies from regions where this software has been deployed around the world and National Lab projects.

This event will explore which grid modernization demonstration projects were most successful and where the market is headed.

The event is finished.
