STEM Book Club – Brotopia, by Emily Chang
Join us for our second bimonthly STEM Book Club! We’ll be discussing Brotopia, by Emily Chang.
“Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley” is a non-fiction book by Emily Chang published in 2018 by Portfolio, a division of Penguin Random House. The book investigates and examines sexism and gender inequality in the technology industry of Silicon Valley. It was an instant national bestseller and received significant media attention and critical acclaim. “‘Brotopia’ is a place where men hold all the cards and make all the rules. Vastly outnumbered, women face toxic workplaces rife with discrimination and sexual harassment, where investors take meetings in hot tubs and network at sex parties.” Note: There is no charge, but all attending must register in order to receive a Zoom link the morning of the event. Donations to the STEM Committee and Zonta’s work supporting women in STEM are always welcome. Email us at Info@zontapikespeak.org for information.
