Technology and Skills in the World of HR and L&D
Choosing the right technology for you and your business.
In HR and L&D, we are often swept away by the constant stream of new technology, challenged with somehow integrating it into our offerings as soon as possible; often before we fully understand it ourselves… Virtual Reality Headsets anyone?
This session is about focusing on the benefits of tech, before choosing it; e.g. how can we practically and cost-effectively begin to use tech to engage, support and inspire our people, in ways that they might seek to engage, support and inspire themselves. How can we easily begin to experiment with different methods without having to have a Masters Degree to understand them, and what might be the right approach for you.
What does ‘Technology’ actually mean? One person might immediately think about satellites and space programmes, another might consider mobile phones, laptops and tablets, while a third person might only go as far as the TV remote and Freeview box. Is there anything wrong with that? No… there’s a lot to be said about still having a Nokia 3210.
Let’s go back to the TV Remote for a moment, and hit ‘PAUSE’. Having too much Tech is like having too many shoes… you can’t use them all at once – even it that would be a better return on investment, some you wear for appearances only – as they aren’t really a great fit, and you usual gravitate to a few pieces that you find the best as they comfortably fit with your work goals and actions (there’s a reason we all end up back with PowerPoint, you know).
This event will be led by Rob Moors www.robmoors.com Rob has over 20 years’ experience in senior leadership roles, L&D teams; spanning organisations such as NHS, Talk Talk and Sky.
