The Future of Knowledge Conference: Building Back Together

The Knowledge Quarter’s “The Future of Knowledge: Building Back Together” conference returns this summer from Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th July 2021, 1pm to 4pm each day The virtual conference will explore vital questions around inclusion and recovery in the Knowledge Quarter area.



We will hear from experts who have championed inclusive economies, quality employment, local entrepreneurship, education support, participatory governance, and more. We will listen to partner organisations grappling with these themes and hear the voices of the local residents whose lives these policies will impact. We will discuss how the KQ as a whole (partner organisations and neighbouring communities alike) can recover from the pandemic together: to work together, to grow together, and to learn together, for the benefit of all.

The programme includes:

Opening address by The Rt Hon Kwasi Kwarteng MP, Secretary of State at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Keynote addresses from activist and author Kajal Odedra, poet and teacher Raymond Antrobus MBE, and Youth MP and writer Athian Akec.

Panel discussions with participants including Co-Director of Compassion in Politics Jennifer Nadel, Professor Ian Goldin of Oxford University, Director of Working Families Jane Van Zyl and Lord David Willetts of Resolution Foundation.

Parallel Youth Roundtables exploring the conference theme.

Lightning Talks by KQ partners showcasing current examples of inclusion and recovery.

Networking in the KQ Virtual Lounge.
