The June 2021 Jobs Report was a huge positive, with 850,000 jobs added. Though unemployment rose to 5.9%, the participation rate also rose, meaning that people are returning to the workforce.

Rising also in these past few months are homes. As families found themselves needing more space during the pandemic, many sought more space. With supply at an all-time low and prices rising, many have been priced out—left to wonder whether they can ever buy into the American Dream. On the other hand, it’s also brought about fear regarding another housing crash.

Dr. White is an Associate Professor of Finance and Endowed Bank of America Lecturer at the University of New Mexico. In addition to teaching MBA students, Dr. White serves as the University Outreach Chair for the CFA Society of New Mexico, Chair of the Cassidy CFA Scholarship, and advisor for the $3.6 Million student-run UNM Regent’s Portfolio. Prior to his career in academia, Dr. White worked as an analyst for a large Boston-based bank, where he learned a great deal about company analysis, funding, and maintaining ethical corporate leadership. He also consults with investment managers on maintaining optimal portfolio strategies, particularly in response to economic challenges.
