DETAILS
We are living and breathing AI every day. Fraud detecting, image recognition, process optimisation – all these emerging AI technologies have been unblocking new possibilities hidden in the data, and transforming our world to be a more efficient and convenient one.
However, from an ethical perspective, this also poses unanticipated harmful results such as unconscious bias, unfairness etc. So, what are the potential consequences? How should we be careful when we design an AI system? Please join us for an interesting discussion with Finnian Lattimore on AI ethics.
About the presenter
Finnian Lattimore is the principal researcher from Gradient Institute. She completed her PhD in machine learning in 2018 and has a decade of experience in leveraging data to solve applied problems at scale, as well as publishing research at top-tier conferences.
At Gradient, she is working to develop and communicate approaches to machine learning and AI that make explicit the assumptions and value judgments they encode, so that we can ensure that AI driven systems satisfy ethical and social norms and improve wellbeing.
