Urban AI Conversation #1 – The Universal Visitation Law of Human Mobility
Every other Tuesday, the Think Tank Urban AI organizes a webinar to better understand the challenges of urban Artificial Intelligence.
For our first Urban AI Conversation, Markus Schläpfer (Principal Investigator at ETH Future Cities Laboratory) will present his latest paper : The universal visitation law of human mobility
In this paper, Markus Schläpfer et all. found that “the number of visitors to any location decreases as the inverse square of the product of their visiting frequency and travel distance”.
But how did they discover this universal law? What are the implications of this result ? And how can new technologies such as AI help us better understand cities?
Come join us for an hour-long conversation on these topics and more!
