DETAILS

Join Austin Free-Net for Digital Inclusion Week! In this session we will have a panel of Big Tech community leaders from Indeed, Google Fiber and NI discuss what tech companies are doing to address the digital divide in Austin.

Panel Speakers:

Parisa Fatehi-Weeks, Senior Director of Global Community Impact at Indeed

John-Michael Cortez, Director of Government and Community Relations at Google Fiber

Daniel Ryne Lucio, Community Impact Manager at Google Fiber

Justin Brady-Joyner, Global Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager at NI

The digital divide is a term that describes the disparity between those who are able to access and use technology and those who are not. When large populations aren’t able to access and use technology, they are prevented from entering a competitive job market. Austin Free-Net is able to help provide access to technology because of the support of some of Austin’s Big Tech companies. In this panel discussion, we will also learn about the many other programs and initiatives large tech companies are supporting and sometimes conducting in house.

The event is finished.
