Women in Software Engineering: Debugging The Web

Join W.I.T. Republic for the latest Lunch & Learn – Debugging the Web. Learn more around what it is, why to do it, as well as practical tips

Joining us to discuss the theme of this Lunch & Learn – debugging the web – is Software Engineer at Capital One, Katie Walker. Katie is a proactive member of the tech community, having spoken at several conferences, organised multiple meetups, as well as becoming a mentor for the Code First Girls initiative.

When it comes to debugging your JavaScript applications, a few trusty console.logs in your code can be a great aid in tracking down where your variables are becoming undefined, or where your logic may not be operating as expected. It can save you a great deal of time, however, to use one of the many more debugging tools included out-of-the-box of your browser or favourite IDE that you may currently not even be aware exists or you’re not sure how to use effectively.

In this talk, Katie will be discussing some of the available debugging tools and methods, and demonstrate situations where they are best placed to be used during the development process to make debugging faster and less painful.
Our Lunch & Learn series is an online workshop-style event providing you with the opportunity to learn about both upcoming and existing technologies from like-minded professionals in the space.
We look forward to seeing you there!

The event is finished.
