ZAL Innovation Talk: Urban Air Mobility 5 Years From Now
In the ZAL Innovation Talk series, we discuss a variety of topics related to modern and future aviation with top-class speakers.
Flying taxis and ambulance drones – hardly any other segment in aviation has been so hyped and heavily discussed recently as the new age of urban air mobility. It is a field of aerospace that sees activity not only from new players like Joby Aviation and Lilium, but also from veteran OEMs like Airbus and Embraer – with the latter just recently unveiling its new air taxi brand named “Eve Air Mobility”.
While these air vehicles may seem new and innovative now, they will end up flying in a well-known and established airspace. And they will need to share it with all other forms of aviation. How can this be integrated, and where will drones and air taxis make sense from a business and geographical perspective?
In the upcoming ZAL Innovation Talk, we will discuss what the next five years could bring to the urban air mobility segment – and whether we could see these new aircraft flying by the end of 2026, as promised by some.
Joining us for this exciting session will be Flavia Ciaccia, Vice President User Experience from EmbraerX’s spin-off Eve Air Mobility, and David Solar, Head of the General Aviation and VTOL Department at the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
