David Goodman is the Director of the Ohio Development Services Agency. The Development Services Agency administers over 70 programs that assist small and emerging businesses and community development. Goodman serves as chair of the Ohio Third Frontier Commission and the Ohio Housing Finance Agency. He serves on the Ohio Water Development Authority, the Ohio Expositions Commission. Prior to the Development Services Agency, he was Director of the Ohio Department of Commerce, the state’s chief regulatory agency. Goodman is a dedicated public servant with a proven track record for effective advocacy and leadership. He served in the Ohio Senate as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee for Civil Justice, Ways & Means, Economic Development, Environmental and the Committee on Health, Human Services and Aging. He also served in the Ohio House of Representative and on his local city council. Goodman’s passion for small business is rooted in his own experience as a small business owner and a lawyer. He served as Assistant Attorney General for the state of Ohio. In the private practice, he specialized in health care and the representation of professionals. Born and raised in Ohio, Director Goodman is a graduate of Bexley High School, Miami University and the Case Western University College of Law.
